Week 5 Phonics Home Learning

 

We are going to continue to use Polly’s Phonics to help us practise

applying sounds.

 

 

Monday

First practise reading all phase 3 sounds using the available PowerPoints.

This week we are going to focus on the sounds ai ee igh oa

Say each sound 5 times!
If you need a little reminder- Re-cap the sounds by watching the videos with Polly.

We are going to start by playing QUICK WRITE!
You will need paper or your writing book and a pencil!

Ask a grown up to start a 2 minute timer – They will then read the words out to you- your challenge is to write as many words as you can in 2 minutes! GO!

Make a note of your score!

This week we are going to be playing Polly’s games!
Today we are going to sort igh and oa words

On the left hand side of the page click on the activities tab

Then click on the ‘Sorting sounds- igh/oa’ box

Listen to the words and sort them to the correct sound ‘igh’ or ‘oa’

Challenge- Choose 1 word to write a sentence about. E.g The goat is on the boat.

Click on the ‘Blending’ box.

Click on each sound then blend to read the word- click on the correct picture to match the word.
