Last week we used ‘Kim’s Phonics’ based on Letters and Sounds Phase 4.
We are continuing and recapping our learning this week.

Monday
Start today’s Phonics lesson by recapping all of the Phase 3 sounds and tricky words by using the PowerPoints in the resources section.
Now access Kim’s Phonics by following the steps above.
Click on the first lily pad
Play the video.
After you have watched the video, there are 3 activities on the right hand side of the screen: last week you did all 3, ‘blending’, ‘reading’ and ‘spelling’. Today choose the one that you found trickiest and try it again.
Challenge: Choose one of the words from the activities and write a sentence about it. Can you use ay tricky words in your sentence?
Tuesday
Start off by recapping Phase 3 sounds and tricky words.
Now access Kim’s Phonics by clicking on the link at the top of the page.
Click on the second lily pad
Play video.
After you have watched the video, use the link below to access Phonics Play, where we are going to practise using applying Phase 4 to our reading.

Scroll down to find the game ‘Odd and Bob’
Press start, choose Phase 4 then choose ‘CCV & CCVC words’ ‘Set 1-7 + digraphs’
After you have played the game, practise writing some words.
Ask an adult to read the following words to you:
Train, brown, swing, green
(Use your Phase 3 sound mat if you cannot remember what the Phase 3 sounds looks like).
Challenge: Use one of these words in a sentence and write it down.
e.g. My swing is red and green.
Wednesday
Start off by recapping Phase 3 sounds and tricky word.
Now access Kim’s Phonics by clicking on the link at the top of the page.
Click on the third lily pad
Play video.
After you have watched the video, there are 3 activities on the right hand side of the screen: ‘blending’, ‘reading’ and ‘spelling’. Last week you did all of these, today choose one you found tricky.
Challenge: Write a shopping list, get your grown up to read out what you need.

Press start, choose Phase 4 then choose ‘CVCC word- Set 1-7 plus digraphs’
After you have played the game, practise writing some words.
Ask an adult to read the following words to you:
Roast bench punch toast
Challenge: Use one of these words in a sentence and write it down.
e.g. I had some toast.

This week, we have been introduced to Phase 4. Today we are going to recap all the learning we have done this week.

Look at all the videos you have watched this week.
Now access Phonics Play using the link above and choose a game that you like to practise reading Phase 3 and 4 words.
Challenge: On Phonics play read ‘What did you put in my lunchbox’ with your grown up.
