Welcome back to your Phonics home learning
The last few weeks we have been learning Phonics using ‘Polly’s Phonics’ – recapping Phase 3 sounds.
This week we are going to be using ‘Kim’s Phonics’ based on Letters and Sounds Phase 4.
In Phase 4, there are no new sounds to learn, however, you will still be using the sounds that you have already learnt, including Phase 2 and Phase 3 sounds and you will be practising your writing and blending skills with larger words.

Monday
Start today’s Phonics lesson by recapping all of the Phase 3 sounds and tricky words by using the PowerPoints in the resources section. If still have your Phase 3 sound mat, you could use this instead by getting an adult to point to sounds in different orders. You can also use the tricky words sheet – you could cut the tricky words out and use them as flashcards, again reading them in different orders.
Now access Kim’s Phonics by following the steps above.
Click on the first lily pad
Play the video.
After you have watched the video, there are 3 activities on the right hand side of the screen: ‘blending’, ‘reading’ and ‘spelling’. Have a go at all three of the activities.
Challenge: Write a sentence with the word ‘plum’ in it.
