Listen to Miss Charman read the story in the files below. What did you like most about the story? I liked how the cunning fox tricked the Gingerbread Man! Do you remember all the characters in the story? Who were they?
Can you draw pictures of each character? You will need these as puppets for Wednesday! Use the attached puppet template, or make your own!

Can you remember the story? Retell the story to your grown up. Today we are going to look at the key features of a story. This means, Character, Setting, Problem, Solution.
Character- (who is in the story?)
Setting (Where did the story happen?)
Problem (what went wrong?)
Solution (How was the problem fixed?)
Draw and label pictures for each feature of the story. Remember you already have all your characters you made yesterday.
Think about where the story was set? What went wrong? How was the problem fixed?

On Monday you created your own puppets, and yesterday we looked at the key features of our story. Today we are going to retell the story.
TASK- Its time to create your own puppet show! Can you retell the story to your family using your puppets.

TASK. Can you create a spider diagram of different characters, settings, problems and solutions? You can draw these as pictures or get a grown up to help you write them. Keep these as you will need them tomorrow.
Challenge- Can you verbally tell a story using your ideas.

TASK- Create a story map for your own story, remember to add time adverbials- these are words which tell us when something is happening. Eg. Once upon a time, first, next, then, after, finally.
