This week we are going to be revisiting some of the sounds we have looked at before that we often find tricky.

 

Monday 22nd June:

Focus sound – ay

Read the ay words below and then practise writing them adding your sound buttons.

 

         hay      stay      pray     play      may     x-ray

 

Practise writing these words in your books, remember to add the dots and dashes. Can you think of a sentence using one or more of these words?

 

Look at the pictures below.  Using the focus sound ay can you finish the words?

 

 

Tuesday 23rd June:

Focus sound – ou

Read the ou words below and then practise writing them adding your sound buttons.                    

 

cloud   proud    out   sound   ground   around

 

Practise writing these words in your books. Can you think of a sentence using one or more of these words?

 

Visit Phonics Play and play Picnic on Pluto. Can you read and sort the real and nonsense ou words?

 

Wednesday 24th June:

Focus sound – au

Read the au words below and then practise writing them adding your sound buttons.

 

haunt      launch     taunt     Paul   haul

 

Practise writing these words in your books. Can you think of a sentence using one or more of these words?  Look at the Powerpoint with the au words.  How many can you read?

Read through the au phoneme spotter below. See if you can find all of the different au words and write them in a list.

Today we are going to be practising reading some of our tricky words.
