This week we are going to be revisiting some of the sounds we have already learnt.
Monday 8th June:
Focus sound – ew
Read the ew words below and then practise writing them adding your sound buttons.

Practise writing these words in your books. Can you think of a sentence using one or more of these words?
Challenge: Can you write down all of the other graphemes that you can think of that also make the ew sound? Try to think of a word for each sound you can think of. Remember to take a picture to send us to show us your fantastic work.
Tuesday 9th June:
Focus sound – ue
Read the ue words below and then practise writing them adding your sound buttons.

Read the au words below and then practise writing them adding your sound buttons.

Look at the resource Phase 5 real and nonsense words for au. Can you sort the words by colouring them in?
Thursday 11th June:
Focus sound – aw
Read the aw words below and then practise writing them adding your sound buttons.

Visit Phonics Play and play Picnic on Pluto. Can you read and sort the real and nonsense aw words?
Challenge: Can you write down all of the other graphemes that you can think of that also make the aw sound? Try to think of a word for each sound you can think of. Remember to take a picture to send us to show us your fantastic work
Now visit Espresso – click on the link from our school website: https://www.silvertreesacademy.co.uk/espresso/
Click on Key Stage 1, English and scroll down to and click on Phonics. Now click on Ash’s Phonics, find the aw sound and watch the video. After you have watched the video click on Activities and scroll down to the aw activities and click on the spelling activity.
Friday 12th June:
Can you read the Common Exception Words?
Use a timer and see how many words you can read in 1 minute. Let us know how many words you can read and let’s see who is the fastest!
Ask a grown up to say a word and see if you can spell it. Can you think of a sentence using that word? Maybe you could write your own story and use lots of tricky words to help you.
