Monday 13th July
Word of the week - recall
Whisper it, shout it, say it in a funny voice.
recall – definition remember
Try writing it in 3 different ways.
recall recall RECALL
Can you think of any other words that mean the same as recall?
Today we want you to think of all the Julia Donaldson books we have looked at over the last few weeks. Here’s a list:
The Scarecrow’s Wedding
The Smeds and the Smoos
The Highway Rat
Zog and the Flying Doctors
Try and recall all the stories:
What happened in the stories?
Who were the main characters?
Did any of the things that happened make you laugh?
Can you recall some better than others?
Which was your favourite?
Choose two of the books and, using Resource sheet 1 draw a front cover and write about how similar they were (what things were the same) and what was different.
Tuesday 14th July
Try writing a sentence using our word of the week.
For the rest of the week we are going to recall our time in Year 2.
Let’s start by thinking about our friends. It’s been a while since you saw each other but try and recall what two of your friends look like and draw a picture of them. Why did you choose those friends? What do you like about them? Try and write a character description of one of your friends. Remember, start with what they look like and then tell us a little bit about their personality. What do they like doing? Are they noisy or quiet?
Wednesday 15th July
Now think about all of things we did in Year 2. What was your favourite lesson/day? I really liked the day we found the dragon’s eggs but you might remember a different day, maybe when we went to Selly Manor. Try and write a little bit about your favourite day and draw a picture of it too.
Thursday 16th July
Think about all the lessons you do in school. Write down your favourite lesson and why you like it. Write down the lesson you don’t like very much and why. Think about all the things you’ve got better at since you’ve been at Silvertrees and write down 3 things you have achieved. Write down 3 things you’d like to get better at and how you are going to do that.
Friday 3rd July
Well today is officially your last day in Year 2 so we’d like you to think about next year when you will be in Year 3. Write down 3 things you are excited about and 3 things you are not sure about.
What do you think will be different?
What do you think will be the same?
